An Asian restaurant near me in Erding has been at the centre of an illegal residence and employment scandal. In April 2023, customs officials discovered two workers without the necessary residence permits, leading to a fine for the restaurant owner. Further inspections in June and August revealed more illegal workers, culminating in an arrest.

The initial inspection in April exposed a serious issue. The workers presented passports and residence permits from other EU countries, but these only allowed entry and residence for up to 90 days within 180 days, not employment at restaurants near me.
