Illegal Employment at Frankfurt Solar Park: 11 Ukrainian Workers Detained
On 20.05.2025, the Main Customs Office Frankfurt (Oder) inspected a large construction site of a solar park in Frankfurt (Oder). The inspection led to the discovery of illegal employment involving 17 workers, with 11 suspected of dodging residence permit rules.
All suspects were Ukrainian citizens who entered Germany on temporary residence permits issued by Slovakia or Poland for tourist purposes. Their stay became illegal due to employment, and each suspect was questioned about the incident.
A security deposit was collected from each suspect, and their passports and residence permits were confiscated. The case will now be handled by the immigration authority, with the local labor and immigration authorities coordinating with law enforcement agencies for further processing.
