Hybrid Dacia Duster Van now available at a price of £23,000
The French automaker Dacia has announced the arrival of its latest offering, the Duster Cargo, a hybrid van variant of its popular SUV. The Duster Cargo, available only in the Expression trim level, promises to be a practical and affordable choice for UK drivers.
The Duster Cargo boasts a generous load capacity of 1149-litres, making it a viable alternative to car-based vans like the Toyota Corolla Commercial. This spacious cargo area features a flat wooden floor and four lashing points for securing large cargo, as well as a mesh bulkhead that separates the load bay from the cockpit.
Drivers looking for a more fuel-efficient option can opt for the mild hybrid powertrain, which pairs a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual gearbox. This setup delivers 128bhp and 170lb ft of torque, while yielding an impressive 46.3mpg. For those seeking even greater fuel economy, the full hybrid version of the Duster Cargo is available, which uses a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. This powertrain produces 153bhp and 151lb ft, and offers an impressive 59mpg.
The Expression trim level for the Duster Cargo includes several desirable features, such as 17in alloy wheels, a six-way-adjustable driver's seat, and a 10.1in infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Duster Cargo also comes with a removable load cover and electric rear windows, which have been swapped for fixed, opaque black items in the cargo variant.
Customer deliveries for the Duster Cargo are expected to begin before the end of the year, and the new van is priced from £22,995 (excluding VAT). The full hybrid version of the Duster Cargo costs £23,595. With its versatile load capacity, choice of two petrol powertrains, and competitive pricing, the Duster Cargo is set to make a strong impression in the UK market.
