Hurricane Wind Damages Snow Barriers on Usharal - Dostyk Highway
JSC 'NC KazAvtoZhol' has confirmed the partial damage of snow protection barriers on the Usharal - Dostyk highway (111-114 km). The incident, caused by a hurricane wind on November 15, 2023, has led to investigations and rectification efforts. The barriers, spanning 3.3 km in two rows, were installed by subcontractor TOO 'ABK-Avtotdor NS' and commissioned on October 2, 2023. The subcontractor is responsible for the section under warranty service, with claims sent for rectification. The destruction was confirmed by inspection reports, the conclusion of RGP 'Kazgidromet', and laboratory research by the Kazakh Road Research Institute. JSC 'NC KazAvtoZhol' has stated that the issues stem from the subcontractor's improper fulfillment of its obligations, not related to their activities. The company is now working to restore the barriers and monitor the subcontractor's warranty obligations. The snow protection barriers on the Usharal - Dostyk highway were partially destroyed due to a hurricane wind. JSC 'NC KazAvtoZhol' is addressing the issue, with the subcontractor responsible for rectification under warranty service.
