HPQ Silicon Inc. Ships First Industrial Batches of High-Performance Lithium-Ion Battery Cells
HPQ Silicon Inc. has marked a significant milestone with the completion and shipment of its first industrial batches of high-performance lithium-ion battery cells. The cells, using the company's proprietary GEN3 silicon-based anode material, are now ready for commercial use. This follows the extension of the exercise date for 2,107,318 outstanding share purchase warrants until November 23, 2027.
The cells, available in 18650 (4,000 mAh) and 21700 (6,000 mAh) formats, are manufactured under the HPQ ENDURA+ brand. They offer up to 1,000 charge cycles and high energy density, positioning them to meet the growing demand for advanced lithium-ion cells. The cells are produced by a large-scale, established battery manufacturer, providing scalability, flexibility, and a significant time-to-market advantage. The initial batches are en route to Montreal for discussions with prospective clients across various sectors. Bernard J. Tourillon, Chairman, President, and CEO of HPQ Silicon Inc., stated that these first shipments demonstrate the company's ability to swiftly transition from R&D to commercial readiness. Comparable 18650 cells currently available on the market typically offer lower energy density and shorter cycle life, retailing between US$4.50 and US$8.00 per cell.
The extensions of the share purchase warrant exercise date are subject to approval from the TSX Venture Exchange and regulatory authorities. HPQ Silicon Inc. continues to make strides in the battery technology sector, with its ENDURA+ batteries poised to make a significant impact due to their enhanced performance and durability.
