Housing and utilities costs for citizens are set to surge, with an average increase of 11.9% starting July 1, as per analyst Natalia Churki from the Institute for Comprehensive Strategic Research. The magnitude of the price hike varies across regions, ranging from 8.6% to 21.1%. Most regions will see growth surpassing 10%. Only a few exceptions include the Altai region, the Chechen Republic, the Amur region, and specific northern regions where costs may not rise as much.

Get ready to dig deeper into your pockets, folks! Beginning July 1st, the monthly bills for housing and communal services are set to spike by an average of 11.9%, as per a report by RIA Novosti, citing analyst Natalia Churkina from the Institute of Comprehensive Strategic Research.

Regional Differences Galore 🌐

This year, the increase in tariffs varies across regions, moving between 8.6% and 21.1%. However, a double-digit growth rate is the norm everywhere, with only a handful of exceptions such as Altai, Chechnya, the Amur Oblast, and several northern regions holding steady.

A Significant Uptick in the Forecast 📈

According to Churkina, the anticipated increase in housing and communal services tariffs for 2026-2027, as indicated by the Ministry of Economic Development's latest April forecast, has experienced a substantial upward revision compared to the initial predictions. The planned increase for 2026 has jumped from 5.4% to 9.8%, while for 2027, the figure has surged from 4.8% to 7.9%.

"In conclusion, the burden on citizens will continue to grow at a lower but still considerable rate in the coming years," Churkina stated.
