Hotel Group Wildes to Refurbish Chester City Centre Property
New Luxury Hotel and Spa to Open in Heart of Chester
In an exciting development for the city, Paul Wildes, CEO of The WILDES Hotel Group, has announced plans to create a stunning new destination in Chester. The boutique hotel and spa, named WILDES Chester, is set to open its doors in spring 2021, subject to obtaining planning consent.
Located in a historic property with a long lease in the city-centre, WILDES Chester will offer exceptional accommodation for both business and leisure travelers. The development will sensitively refurbish the period property, retaining its original features while introducing an interior design inspired by key venues in London and around the world.
The hotel will feature 16 unique bedrooms, each with its own distinctive design and free-standing furnishings to preserve the building's original features. One room will even feature a four-seater cinema, adding a touch of luxury to the guest experience. Each bedroom will also include quirky elements such as a free-standing bathtub with a skylight, providing a truly memorable stay.
Guests will have the opportunity to unwind in the hotel's luxurious spa, which will be located on the first floor. The spa will boast a relaxation area, nail bar, and multiple treatment rooms, ensuring guests can indulge in a truly pampering experience.
The restaurant and bar, named Benedict's, will serve quality all-day food, drinks, and cocktails. Guests will also be able to enjoy food and drinks outdoors on the Rows from fully heated banquettes, offering stunning views onto Eastgate Street.
The roof of the hotel will feature a rooftop pool and terrace, providing guests with breathtaking views across the city. This rooftop area will be the perfect spot for evening cocktails or a relaxing dip in the pool.
The development is expected to generate significant employment and boost the local economy, as well as providing a lasting economic and social benefit to the city. The Grosvenor Estate, which retains the freehold of the property, has made a statement supporting the proposed use of the property. Annabel Farbon of the Grosvenor Estate said, "We are delighted to support this proposed use of the property and believe it will be a fantastic addition to Chester's vibrant city-centre."
The development also supports the city's High Street Heritage Action Zone project to renovate and reinvigorate the rows. WILDES Chester will be located within the historical Rows, ensuring it is at the heart of the city's rich history and culture.
Björn Wild, the CEO of the WILDES Hotel Group, has stated that his aim is to create a go-to destination that offers exceptional accommodation, an ultimate dining spot, and a place to enjoy evening cocktails. With its luxurious spa, stunning views, and unique bedrooms, it seems that WILDES Chester will certainly achieve this goal. The WILDES Hotel Group has submitted a planning application to convert vacant offices on Bridge Street into a boutique hotel and spa, and we can't wait to see the finished result.
