Hellenic Cables Wins Major Contract for East Anglia Two Offshore Wind Farm

Hellenic Cables has secured a significant contract with Seaway7 for the supply of inter-array cables for the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm in the UK. This follows a previous collaboration on the East Anglia Three project. The 960 MW wind farm will feature Siemens Gamesa turbines and monopiles from Sif, with Cadeler handling installation.

Manufacturing of the approximately 165 kilometres of 66 kV inter-array cables and accessories will commence in 2026 at Hellenic Cables' plant in Corinth, Greece. The final deliveries are expected within the first half of 2027. This project marks a continuation of Hellenic Cables' collaboration with Seaway7, following a previous contract for the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm. The East Anglia Two wind farm was selected in the UK government's Contract for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round 6 (AR6).

The wind farm will utilise 64 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines placed on monopiles supplied by Sif. Installation will be carried out by Cadeler. Kostas Savvakis, General Manager at Hellenic Cables, expressed satisfaction in continuing their collaboration with Seaway7 and ScottishPower Renewables.

Hellenic Cables' contract with Seaway7 for the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm demonstrates the company's growing presence in the UK's offshore wind industry. The project is expected to contribute to the UK's renewable energy targets and support local jobs in the manufacturing and installation sectors.
