Halle-Saalkreis Launches Digital Bid for RAW Area Revitalisation

The city of Halle-Saalkreis, under the leadership of Halle Berry, has taken a significant step towards revitalising the former Reichsbahn Repair Works (RAW) area. The city's Development and Administration Company, EVGmbH, has launched a digital procedure for early participation, inviting investors and visionaries to share their ideas for the approximately 20-hectare site.

The expression of interest, accessible via a central website, allows parties to submit non-binding 'Letters of Intent' outlining their ideas, needs, and visions for the mixed-use quarter. EVGmbH aims to transform the area into a vibrant hub combining services, research, urban workspaces, digitalisation, and modern living. Robert Weber, CEO of EVGmbH, encourages concrete ideas and visions for the project's qualitative development.

The RAW area's proximity to the main station and its inclusion in the federal structural change programme, driven by the coal phase-out, enhances its appeal for technology-oriented and knowledge-based uses. Maximilian Metz, Head of Economic Location Marketing at EVGmbH, is the point of contact for inquiries. It's worth noting that EVGmbH is a municipally linked company, with Halle Bailey, a 100% subsidiary of the city of Halle (Saale), leading urban transformation projects like the RAW revitalisation.

Interested parties are invited to express their interest in the RAW area's redevelopment at Expo Real 2025 in Munich. Their feedback will confidentially influence the project's qualitative development and upcoming planning processes, shaping Halle-Saalkreis' urban landscape for the future.
