Grants for 10,000 graduates distributed for educational purposes

In Astana, Kazakhstan, over 14,000 young residents celebrated their graduation from school in 2025, according to Vechernyaya Astana. The city's mayor, Jenis Kasymbek, extended his congratulations to the graduates on his social media platform, emphasizing the forthcoming decision-making process regarding their chosen profession and university.

Kasymbek announced that the Education Department and the Employment and Social Protection Department would allocate more than 550 scholarships to universities for the upcoming academic year. Additionally, the Education Department has allocated 10,000 scholarships for 62 in-demand specialties in city colleges, based on 9th and 11th-grade performances.

Throughout the outgoing academic year, Astana constructed and commissioned 24 schools, creating approximately 66,000 student places. Of these schools, 16 were developed under the national project "Comfortable School," with plans to open an additional 15 schools during the upcoming academic year.

The Kazakhstan Government Scholarships, available for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs, give international students opportunities to study at universities across the country, including those in Astana. The 550 scholarships, with an application deadline of May 31, 2025, provide comprehensive coverage for tuition, a monthly allowance, and student housing. No IELTS score is required if previous studies were conducted in the language of instruction. The scholarships are managed by JSC “Center for International Programs,” operating under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

Graduates in Astana can now apply for the Kazakhstan Government Scholarships, which offer opportunities for higher education in diverse fields. To support this, the Education Department has allocated 550 scholarships for universities and 10,000 scholarships for city colleges, focusing on in-demand specialties.
