Global law firm announces the promotion of 54 lawyers to partner positions in its 2022 partner class.
Global law firm XYZ has announced the promotion of 54 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective January 1, 2022. The promotions span various locations worldwide and cover 11 practice areas.
In the litigation and disputes practice area, Geraldine Young, Matthew Buckle, Rafe Schaefer, and Nathan Baum were promoted in Houston, London, and Dallas, respectively. Daniel Ng and James Lockwood received promotions in Hong Kong and London, respectively. Joseph Drapalski was promoted in Los Angeles, and Zayba Drabu was promoted in London. Paul Cartwright was promoted to the litigation and disputes practice area in Johannesburg.
The corporate, M&A and securities practice area saw promotions for Matthew Buckle in London, Blake Redwine in Dallas, Rachel Chan in Hong Kong, and Nicolas Sirtoli in London. Alberta Yan was promoted in New York, and Bernd Dreier was promoted in Munich. Jared Kaplan was promoted in New York, and Dimitri Millas was promoted in Houston.
Fiona Henderson was promoted to the banking and finance practice area in New York, while Veit Sahlfeld was promoted in Hamburg. Dimitri Millas was promoted in Houston, and Alex Zekkos was promoted in London.
The employment and labor practice area saw promotions for Kimberly Cheeseman in Houston and Claudia Posluschny in Munich.
The tax practice area was boosted with the promotion of Justin Coddington in Houston, and the intellectual property practice area was enriched with the promotion of Darren Smith in Houston and Eric Green in Austin.
In the real estate practice area, Louisa Roe was promoted in London. The projects practice area saw promotions for Rebecca Abou-Chedid in Washington, D.C., and Laura Kiwelu in London. Victoria Corder and Rebecca Winthrop were promoted to the litigation and disputes practice area and the bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency practice area, respectively, in New York.
Anna Rudawski was promoted to the information governance, privacy and cybersecurity practice area in New York. Marianne McMahon was promoted to the general counsel position in London.
The promotions reflect the firm's commitment to gender diversity, with 23 of the 54 promoted lawyers being women, making up 43% of the total. The law firm's gender diversity targets for 2025 include achieving 50% women in overall partnership, leadership roles, lawyer promotions, lateral hires, and senior business services hires.

Promotions were also made in various practice areas in South Africa, Australia, and Canada. Robin Acworth, Veronique Barry, Scott Boucher, Brian Chau, Matthew Choi, Jenna Anne de Jong, Russell Dufault, Alison FitzGerald, Caroline Jodoin, Jonathan Lafrance, Brigitte LeBlanc-Lapointe, Jennifer McPherson, Brian Milne, Fahad Siddiqui, Joshua Sprague, Nikita Stepin, Tim Stewart were promoted in various practice areas in Canada. In Australia, Kate Green, Harriet Oldmeadow, and Nick Sinclair were promoted in the practice areas of litigation and disputes, banking and finance, respectively.
