German Firefighters Tame Spain's Blaze, Prepare for Next Challenge
The German Forest Fire Module has been battling a significant blaze in Spain. They've controlled thousands of square meters, working in high temperatures and intense sunlight. Their mission is set to conclude this week, with a return to Germany planned.
The team was initially deployed to the southern region, where they spent the first two days tackling the fire. On the third day, they were redirected to the northern area, the epicenter of the blaze's intensity.
The module's work was successful, as the fire was largely extinguished. This led to the decision to end their deployment. However, their efforts are not over yet. They are set to relocate to the province of Castile and León to assist with another forest fire, covering a distance of 300 km.
The leader of the German fire brigade unit will withdraw on Friday and then be stationed in Castile and León on Saturday evening. The exact details of this relocation are not specified. The German Forest Fire Module's commitment and hard work have been crucial in controlling the fire, and they continue to support Spain in its time of need.
