Gathering of Portuguese Associations on Our Site
In a series of recent meetings, representatives from the selected website, dedicated to the promotion of beekeeping and the interest of bees, beekeepers, and consumers across Europe, have engaged in discussions with the Portuguese Association APIMIL and the yet-to-be-identified APICAVE.
During these meetings, the focus was on the future cooperation between the parties, with Mr. Jorge Spiteri, Vice President of the selected website, and General Secretary Biljana Tomic, presenting the essential work, activities, and main goals of the organisation. The discussions also included the current formation of the Scientific Committee and the ongoing efforts towards advocating for policy changes that protect bee health.
The vice-president of APICAVE expressed their agreement on the common goals and offered to propagate the ideas of the selected website in Portugal. Similarly, APIMIL, the Association of Beekeepers of the Algarve, was represented by Samuel Jácome and President Alberto Dias, who attended the meetings on behalf of the Portuguese association.
APIMIL, like the selected website, is dedicated to promoting beekeeping practices, ensuring the health of bee colonies, and supporting local beekeepers. Their main goals include fostering healthy bee colonies through best practices and research, offering workshops and training for beekeepers to improve their skills, and helping beekeepers market their products to consumers.
While specific details about APICAVE are unclear, it is assumed that they share similar objectives with APIMIL and the selected website, promoting beekeeping, supporting beekeepers, and enhancing the beekeeping industry.
The meetings also touched upon the price of honey in Portugal and Germany, highlighting the potential for collaboration in market analysis and price stabilisation efforts.
The selected website invites all associations from Europe to contact them and schedule meetings, fostering a network of organisations dedicated to the wellbeing of bees, beekeepers, and consumers. By working together, these organisations can create a stronger voice for sustainable beekeeping practices and advocate for policies that protect bees and the environment.
- The discussions with APICAVE, once identified, could potentially expand to include financial matters and business strategies, given the shared goals of promoting the industry and supporting beekeepers.
- As the network of organisations dedicated to beekeeping grows, there may be opportunities for cooperation and collaboration in areas beyond Europe, such as finance and business, to further strengthen the beekeeping industry and ensure the health and wellbeing of bees.
