**Regional Transportation Committee Meeting to Address Public Transit Needs**
The North Central Illinois Council of Governments (NCICG) is hosting a Regional Transportation Committee Meeting on July 25, 2025. The meeting will take place at the Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living in Spring Valley, Illinois, and will focus on improving public transportation services for the region.
**Identifying Transportation Needs**
The meeting will begin with discussions on the transportation needs of Region 3, which includes Bureau, DeKalb, Grundy, Kendall, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, and Putnam counties. Committee members will work together to identify gaps in the current system and explore ways to address these issues.
**Service Improvement Solutions**
The committee's goal is to develop strategies and solutions to improve public transportation services, with a particular emphasis on connecting human service organizations, transit providers, and community stakeholders. The focus is on improving services for the general public, with an emphasis on seniors, people with disabilities, individuals with lower incomes, and veterans—groups that often face significant transportation barriers.
