Gas Pipeline Relocation Begins Along B 169 for Expansion Project
Gas pipeline relocation along the B 169 between B 6 and Salbitz has begun. The project, costing approximately 950,000 euros and funded by the federal budget, is the second major adjustment of lines in preparation for the B 169 expansion. The work involves lowering the pipeline by about 70 meters in the Hahnefeld reservoir area to accommodate a free-flow drainage line.
The high-pressure gas pipeline is being shifted in two sections using the bore-pull method. The first section, approximately 250 meters long, is near Reppen-Hahnefeld. The second section, around 400 meters, crosses the new B 169. The gas network operator responsible for laying the pipeline is one of the major German operators such as ONTRAS, GASCADE, or Thyssengas, depending on the region and project specifics.
The work is being carried out on behalf of Mitnetz Gas and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
The pipeline relocation is a significant step in the B 169 expansion project. Once completed, it will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the gas network in the region, with minimal disruption to local residents and businesses.
