Gaming company Novomatic acquires 10-year Dutch gambling license extension, granted by KSA (Dutch Gambling Authority)

The Dutch gaming regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has handed Novomatic a 10-year extension on its gaming vendor license. This renewal comes after certain stringent conditions that previously stood in the way were scrapped. With a plethora of three teams working together, Novomatic's legal compliance department, along with their broader legal team, managed to secure this lengthy license, keeping their distribution of slot machines and other land-based gaming products operational in the Netherlands for another decade.
This recent move followed significant changes within Novomatic's Dutch operations. For instance, Dr. Alexander Legat took reigns as the new CEO for the Netherlands back in September 2024. In the broader European market, Tipico grabbed full ownership of Novomatic's Admiral Group in Austria this year with the acquisition completed in January.
Simultaneously, the KSA slapped a weekly penalty payment order on operator Starscream, ordering them to cease all unauthorized online casino activities in the Netherlands. The regulator also disclosed a total gaming revenue of €1.47 billion for 2024.
