Killa Conversions has announced that they will replace the factory twin-turbo 3.0-litre Ecoboost V6 with a 5.0-litre 'Coyote' V8. This change significantly boosts the power output of the upgraded Ranger Raptor, which now produces an impressive 559kW of power, up from the standard model's 292kW. The torque also sees a significant increase, with the upgraded Ranger Raptor now producing 908Nm, compared to the standard model's 583Nm.
To handle the extra power, the transmission's internals have been beefed up. Power is still being channelled through all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
For those who are unwilling or unable to afford the full upgraded Ranger Raptor conversion, Killa Conversions offers alternatives. They also provide V8 engine swaps for the standard Ranger models. One such option is an LS3 engine swap for the older standard Ranger, which can be done for as little as AU$49,500 (NZ$53,700).
The mastermind behind Killa Conversions remains unnamed, but their goal is clear: to fix the V8 gap in the Ford Ranger Raptor. The company's latest offering, the naturally aspirated Coyote V8 fit for the previous-gen turbo-diesel Ranger Raptor, is priced at AU$62,000 (NZ$67,300).
