Floods Devastate 'The Nest' Children's Home in Kenya, Urgent Aid Needed
For three decades, the Solidarity Action from Tirschenreuth has been steadfastly supporting 'The Nest', a children's and mothers' home in Nairobi, Kenya. This vital aid has been provided through the Kinder brauchen Frieden e.V. organisation. The recent floods, however, have brought new challenges, with the Halfway House severely damaged and the community in urgent need of assistance.
The Nest, which takes in orphans from their earliest days, currently cares for 40 vulnerable children. Recently, Geroldine Ondrusek visited the project, witnessing firsthand the critical work being done. The Solidarity Action is now rallying support to help families and children affected by the floods. The Halfway House, home to 13 young mothers and five pregnant girls, has been devastated, with everyone temporarily relocated to a dilapidated old house lacking water and electricity.
Donations can be made to the Solidarity Action account at Sparkasse Oberpfalz Nord, using IBAN DE67 7535 0000 0008 8286 67, with the reference 'Flooding-Nest'. More information about The Nest and the Solidarity Action can be found on their respective websites, www.thenesthome.org and www.aktion-solidaritaet.de.
The floods have brought unprecedented challenges to The Nest, but the community's resilience and the support of organisations like the Solidarity Action remain unwavering. With your help, we can ensure that the children and families affected by the floods receive the urgent assistance they need.
