Fare Increase in Yakutsk Buses from April 1: Anticipated Bus Fares Rise Commencing April 1 in Yakutsk

YAKUTSK, RUSSIA - Effective immediately, the Yakutsk City Administration has implemented new public transportation fares. The cost for a single journey within the city has risen to 52 rubles, an increase from the previous 45 rubles, while fares for suburban travel now stand at 95 rubles, a rise from 85 rubles.

Cashless payment for rides within the city is now 46 rubles, an increment from the previous 40 rubles, and 81 rubles for suburban travel, up from 70 rubles. Travel cards have also experienced an uptick in price, despite earlier media reports suggesting no changes.

The 40-ride (60-day) travel card now costs 1100 rubles, the 60-ride (30-day) travel card is priced at 1400 rubles, the 60-day (60-day) travel card costs 1500 rubles, and the 30-day (suburban) travel card is now 3150 rubles. The tariffs for the "Sputnik" card for city travel have increased to 38 rubles (from 33 rubles), and for suburban travel to 77 rubles (previously 66 rubles). The tariffs for the Yakutia resident and large family cards, however, remain unchanged.

According to the "UnionAuto" NO, the actual cost of a city ride is 70 rubles. Consequently, the price adjustments, announced on April 1, represent a reasonable increase, the source notes.

In the realm of cashless payment methods, specific details on bank card or mobile payment options have not been explicitly stated in the available sources, although many Russian cities and major transport networks have adopted such payment systems. Additionally, while a "Sputnik" card has been mentioned in previous data, its existence, usage, or unique name in Yakutsk's public transport system remains unclear.

As of May 2025, the primary public transportation fares in Yakutsk consist of a one-way trip within the city priced at 52 rubles and a monthly pass costing between 1,000 and 1,093 rubles. Further details regarding cashless payment methods and the "Sputnik" card—should they exist in Yakutsk's public transport system—remain to be elucidated.

In the context of Yakutsk's public transportation system, the finance industry is impacted by the increase in fares for both cash and travel cards, as public-transit costs within the city are now 46 rubles and suburban travel costs 81 rubles for cashless payment options. Meanwhile, the transportation sector in Yakutsk is influencing the finance industry as well, as the cost of various travel cards has seen an uptick in price despite initial reports suggesting no changes.
