Published at 17 Apr 2025

Tom Pack, an experienced litigator with over a decade under his belt, has just joined the prestigious international law firm, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, as a partner at their San Francisco office. Pack brings an impressive background in product liability and complex litigation, with a focus on serving life science companies.

Previously, Pack served as a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, but now he's diving headfirst into Faegre Drinker's robust product liability and mass torts practice. With expertise in commercial litigation, pharmaceutical, and medical device matters, Pack has been a key player in several significant cases, handling everything from product liability claims to breach of contract, regulatory compliance, and patent infringement disputes.

Pack's practice extends beyond the courtroom. He's represented clients in consolidated proceedings like federal multidistrict litigation and similar state court proceedings in California and Minnesota. Notably, his practice also includes pro bono work, particularly focusing on civil rights and immigration cases for asylum seekers who have faced persecution based on their LGBTQ+ identities or orientations.

Before his stint at Greenberg Traurig, Pack held positions at Minnesota-based law firm Maslon and global powerhouse, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Amy Fiterman, head of Faegre Drinker's product liability and mass torts practice, welcomes Pack with open arms. "Tom delivers sophisticated work for life sciences clients, truly aligning with our firm's nationally recognized practice known for its expertise in complex, high-stakes litigation," she says. Pack's deep understanding of the pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare sectors is sure to enhance the firm's client services.

Pack's arrival in the San Francisco office follows the addition of former White & Case Silicon Valley executive partner Heather Burke and federal prosecutor Caroyln Fitzhugh McNiven. The office head, Cheryl Orr, emphasizes that "Tom will be a valuable addition to our litigation and product liability practices in California, areas of significant growth for our firm."

Tom Pack's unique blend of legal expertise, business acumen, and pro bono commitment make him a valuable asset to Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath.
