Ecolab and Ford Pro Team Up to Electrify 10,000-Vehicle Fleet by 2030
Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions, has joined forces with Ford Pro to transition its North American fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030. The partnership, which builds on a century-long collaboration, will see Ecolab's over 10,000 light-duty vehicles, predominantly Ford models, replaced with electric counterparts.
Ecolab's commitment to sustainability is evident in its ambitious plans. By 2025, the company aims to convert its entire California sales and service fleet to electric, making it the largest all-electric sales and service fleet in the state. This significant step is part of Ecolab's broader goal to achieve net-zero emissions globally by 2050.
Ford Pro, Ford's new business unit dedicated to commercial customers, will support this transition. It will provide charging and telematics software, along with productivity software and service solutions to manage and maintain Ecolab's California fleet. Ecolab will acquire over 1,000 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro trucks and Mustang Mach-E SUVs for this purpose. The switch to EVs is expected to result in approximately 50% lower annual fuel costs per vehicle.
The partnership between Ecolab and Ford Pro sets a precedent for businesses, demonstrating how embracing eco-friendly practices can lead to long-term profitability and environmental well-being. Ecolab, with 95% of its fleet comprising Ford vehicles, has a long history with Ford, dating back to 1925, initially focusing on water conservation initiatives.
Ecolab's electrification initiative, backed by Ford Pro's expertise and technology, is a substantial stride towards a sustainable future. With over 1,000 electric Ford vehicles set to hit California roads by 2025, Ecolab is not only reducing its environmental impact but also driving innovation and cost savings in the process.
