DraftKings Drops Lawsuit: Michael Hermalyn Free to Join Fanatics
Michael Hermalyn, a former employee of DraftKings, has seen a legal dispute come to an end. The case, fought in Massachusetts and California, has been settled out of court. Hermalyn, who was set to join Fanatics Betting & Gaming, will now be able to take up his new role on February 1, 2025.
The legal saga began when DraftKings accused Hermalyn of poaching 'VIP' customers upon his move to rival company Fanatics. The case focused on Hermalyn's contractual commitments and the alleged misappropriation of trade secrets. However, a recent court filing revealed that DraftKings has dropped these accusations. As part of the settlement, Hermalyn has agreed to abide by his contractual obligations to DraftKings, ensuring a clean break between the two parties.
With the lawsuit now settled, Hermalyn is free to join Fanatics Betting & Gaming as planned, starting on February 1, 2025. The settlement ends a lengthy legal process, allowing both parties to move forward.
