Dippelsdorf Pond Renovation Gets Green Light, Set to Begin Late 2026
Dr. Sven Eppinger, a CDU state MP from Radebeul, has secured crucial funding for the renovation of Dippelsdorf pond. The project management, set to begin in late October 2026 and conclude by April 2027, includes dredging, comprehensive renovation of water engineering structures, and construction of a sedimentation basin. The total cost is estimated at 4.9 million euros.
Dr. Eppinger, who has made the dredging of Dippelsdorf pond a top priority, received a letter from Finance Minister Christian Piwarz confirming the support of key ministers, including Georg Ludwig von Breitenbuch (Environment and Agriculture). The project management is vital for preserving important water engineering structures and habitats for animal and plant life.
Soil analysis of the sediment shows partial agricultural use of the sludge is possible. The project management aims to prevent the final silting up and overgrowth of the pond, ensuring its longevity and continued benefit to the region.
The Dippelsdorf pond renovation project, costing 4.9 million euros, is expected to begin late next year and finish in spring 2027. With the support of key ministers and Dr. Eppinger's dedication, this project management is set to significantly improve the pond's condition and contribute positively to the region's environment.
