DHL's New Eco-Friendly Delivery Hub in Zirndorf Boosts Local Mail Delivery
DHL and Deutsche Post have inaugurated a new delivery support point in Zirndorf, with the municipality set to benefit from eco-friendly news delivery. The new site, located near the Playmobil FunPark, is designed to be CO2-neutral and will serve households in Oberasbach, Zirndorf, and Roßtal.
The new building, which employs around 50 staff, is equipped with a photovoltaic system and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. This shift towards sustainability is set to contribute to climate protection and ensure future-proof news delivery. Currently, letters and smaller packages in Oberasbach are delivered by bicycle, but this will transition to electric vehicles by next year.
The operational manager marked the occasion by presenting a horseshoe as a lucky charm for the new distribution center and its employees. Sascha Weigl, head of the Outbound Delivery Brief and Bundle department, commended the employees' performance and stressed the significance of news-in voting.
The new delivery support point in Zirndorf is expected to strengthen the region's household news supply and economic infrastructure. Landrat Bernd Obst and Zirndorf's first mayor, Thomas Zwingel, both acknowledged the center's importance and potential benefits for their respective municipalities.
