Deloitte Bolsters Cyber Practice with Hacktive Team Acquisition

Deloitte Australia has revealed that it will be welcoming the team from specialist cyber risk firm, Hacktive, to its ranks. The move is set to bolster Deloitte's cybersecurity practice and enhance its managed security services, with the Hacktive team expected to formally join on 11 October 2022.

Hacktive, based in Sydney, specialises in cybersecurity risk services such as vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. The team of ten will bring their expertise to Deloitte, helping to expand capabilities within the Cyber Intelligence Centre. The terms of the transaction remain confidential.

Chris Gatford, Hacktive's CEO, will take on the role of Deloitte Risk Advisory partner, while Keith Hazelwood will become a Risk Advisory principal. Gatford expressed his alignment with Deloitte's client service focus and workplace culture. Deloitte's Risk Advisory Managing Partner, Steve Jansz, highlighted the critical role of managing cybersecurity risk in businesses' digital transformation journeys.

The Hacktive team's expertise in cybersecurity risk services will strengthen Deloitte's offerings. Their arrival is timely, given the strong market demand for managed cybersecurity services, as mentioned by Deloitte Cyber Leader, Ian Blatchford.
