Leapmotor Launches Global SUV Model, the C10
Leapmotor, a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKG: 9863), has entered the global market with its first global model, the Leapmotor C10. The new SUV was launched on March 2 and has already started deliveries in its home country, China.
The C10 is part of Leapmotor's C-series models and is available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions. The BEV comes in four versions, with starting prices ranging from RMB 128,800 ($17,920) to RMB 168,800, while the EREV offers three versions, starting from RMB 135,800.
The Leapmotor C10 BEV features a 160 kW rear-mounted motor delivering 320 Nm torque, a 69.9 kWh battery, and a WLTP range of up to 420 km. It supports fast charging from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes with a maximum DC charging speed of 84 kW. The vehicle offers a rear-wheel-drive layout and seats five passengers comfortably, including room for three child seats in the back.
The interior of the C10 is equipped with advanced features such as a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch driver display, panoramic fixed glass roof with electric sunshade, and multiple USB charging ports, including rear passenger ports. Safety includes a 5-star ANCAP rating, seven airbags, and a host of modern driver aids. Standard comfort features include 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, electric heated and ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker audio system, and electric tailgate.
Regarding availability, Leapmotor is expanding internationally through a joint venture with Stellantis. The C10 is confirmed for key overseas markets such as Australia and New Zealand, with Australia identified as an early market, and local dealer networks set up, including authorized service centers. Pricing initially started near $45,888 USD (Style variant) and $49,888 USD (Design variant), but recent discounts have reduced prices by about $7,000 to increase competitiveness.
The C10 offers strong warranty coverage with a 7-year / 160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty. Servicing is recommended through authorized dealers but can be done at approved third-party mechanics without voiding warranty.
