Daring venture for structural manipulation and chasm bridge-building

Project Kickoff in Gebhardtstraße 🏗️🌆

In a lively groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Thomas Jung and local construction company GS Schenk officially started a major downtown construction project on Gebhardtstraße. With this undertaking, the last empty plot in the city center will soon be filled, paving the way for a new wave of commercial ventures right in the heart of Fürth.

spearheaded by Kochinvest GmbH & Co. Projekt KG and Fueg Investment GmbH, this ambitious project will eventually see an eight-story building erected near the main train station. Future tenants can look forward to diverse commercial spaces being born from this venture.

HR-Architektur, a well-respected architectural firm, has lent its expertise to the project, which will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will comprise a self-storage facility and an eye clinic by the Oberscharrer Group. The second phase will follow with a mixed-use building featuring cutting-edge, energy-efficient office spaces and hotel accommodations. Both structures will be connected via a shared underground garage.

GS Schenk, a renowned and forward-thinking construction company, will handle both the construction and act as the developer in the second phase. As they celebrate their 111th year in business this year, they're eager to take on this project and make a lasting impact on the city of Fürth. The first construction phase will be owned by SelfStorage - Dein Lagerraum GmbH from Munich, with a completion date set for 2027. The second phase will follow shortly thereafter, also under GS Schenk's steadfast guidance.

"We're thrilled to be part of this exciting project that will bring new life to a previously vacant plot in our city center," said Mayor Jung during the ceremony. "Revitalizing this location close to the train station sends a strong and positive message about the future of our city."

Economic Affairs Representative Horst Müller added: "In the face of a challenging market landscape, this project stands as a promising symbol of investment readiness and optimism — not just from the city but from the private sector as well."

The construction's proximity to rail and subway lines will prove challenging for the builders, but rest assured that GS Schenk – with its long history and expertise in the field – is more than up to the task. "It's gratifying to be tackling this project in our anniversary year," noted Andreas Eckert, Managing Director of GS Schenk GmbH. "Taking on such responsibilities affirms our commitment to Fürth as a vibrant and growing city."

Why You Should Care About Sustainable Building Practices 🌱💧

While the specific sustainability initiatives for this project aren't spelled out in the article, it's important to note that GS Schenk announced an expansion last year, acquiring Dörrmann Construction. This move could potentially strengthen GS Schenk's capacity in sustainable building practices, though it may not signal an immediate commitment to this particular project.

As long-term investors in Fürth, GS Schenk's dedication to sustainability could result in energy-efficient structures that contribute to a more environmentally friendly downtown. Keep an eye on this project as it progresses to see if GS Schenk embraces modern, eco-friendly building standards.

The economic and social policy of Project Kickoff in Gebhardtstraße involves a mix of commercial ventures, including businesses, financing for the self-storage facility and eye clinic, and real-estate investments for the later phases of the project.

The ambitious project, spearheaded by Kochinvest GmbH & Co. Projekt KG and Fueg Investment GmbH, will not only contribute to the revitalization of the city center but also inspire confidence and investment readiness, as stated by Economic Affairs Representative Horst Müller.
