Revolutionizing Mobility in Valence: The Transdev Valence Mobilities Plan
Cycling industry bounces back in Valence-Romans!
In line with the DSP contract started in the summer of 2024, Transdev Valence Mobilities has been devoting its resources to enriching bicycle services. A closer look at some of the transformative projects they've been working on:
- Libélo and Mon Libélo – These initiatives, likely modifications of the well-known bike-sharing programs in French urban communities, aim to provide greater access to bikes for short trips as an eco-friendly alternative to personal vehicles. Features such as easy-to-use apps and account management tools are being included to streamline the rental and subscription processes.
- Vélo'box – These secure bike parking systems, common at transport hubs, create safe spaces for cyclists to store their bikes as they switch to other forms of transportation. By promoting intermodal transport and reducing car reliance, Vélo’box supports a more sustainable urban mobility lifestyle.
- Valence Romans Mobilities – This local authority is responsible for organizing public and shared mobility services including cycling. By integrating initiatives like bike-sharing, secure parking, and other bike-friendly options into the regional mobility framework, they're weaving cycling into a seamless, sustainable part of the transport network.
To promote these projects further and meet their commitments regarding bicycle service usage and revenue, a comprehensive communication campaign is underway, collaborating with Valence Romans Mobilities and Cycléo, the local cycling network. In Valence, the dedicated bicycle team handles maintenance, restocking, marketing, and management of these services' tools.
Although comprehensive, up-to-date details for the 2022 bicycle service development projects are currently scarce—official reports from Transdev Valence Mobilités or Valence Romans Mobilities would provide clearer insights such as investment figures, number of stations, bikes, or users involved in these projects.
The Transdev Valence Mobilities Plan is not limited to enhancing bicycle services, as it also extends to areas such as the finance industry. The plan aims to secure funding for these transformative projects, including Libélo, Mon Libélo, Vélo'box, and Valence Romans Mobilities, thereby fostering an environment where sustainability and eco-friendly alternatives, like cycling, thrive in the urban transportation sector.
