Business Takeover: Creditor Assumes Control over Branches and Trademark - Creditor seizes control over subsidiaries and brand following Thüfleiwa's bankruptcy
Thüfleiwa Partially Rescued as EWU Takes Over Branches and Brand
In a move aimed at securing the future of the Thuringian traditional brand, EWU Thuringian Sausage and Specialties GmbH has taken over 13 sales branches of Thüfleiwa, based in Apolda. The decision comes after the insolvency of the Thuringian meat products production and distribution company.
The agreements were communicated to the employees on Tuesday, with lawyer Stefan Ettelt describing the situation as difficult. Unfortunately, the production facility in Apolda, which has a more than hundred-year tradition in the production of Thuringian sausage and meat products, will cease operation on October 31. The production employees in Apolda will be dismissed.
The reason for discontinuing production under the Thüfleiwa name is the deteriorated condition of the production facilities, making continued manufacturing unfeasible. The parties involved in the solution have not been specified.
Despite the production cease, EWU has expressed interest in hiring well-trained specialists. Mirko Schwendel, the former managing director of Thüfleiwa, will take over responsibility for the branch network at EWU.
EWU Thuringian Sausage and Specialties GmbH, based in Serba, Saale-Holzland district, will continue the Thüfleiwa brand. This acquisition retains regional values for the customers of the meat and sausage producer.
Applicants can apply for positions at EWU, offering a chance for those affected by the production cease to continue their work in the industry. The agreements retain the commitment to uphold the Thüfleiwa brand's reputation and quality.
The insolvency administrator in Apolda announced that production could not be saved. However, this partial solution provides hope for the preservation of the Thüfleiwa brand and the continuation of its long-standing tradition in the production of Thuringian sausage and meat products.
The takeover of Thüfleiwa's branches by EWU offers finance for the continuation of the Thüfleiwa brand, facilitating business opportunities within the manufacturing industry. The production cease of Thüfleiwa in Apolda may require aid for the displaced workers, but the commitment to retain the brand's reputation provides a chance for community aid in the form of job opportunities.
