Mehdi Zarhloul, a Moroccan immigrant, came to the United States with $75 in his pocket and a dream in his heart. Starting his journey in America washing dishes in a small restaurant in Washington, D.C., Zarhloul's journey is a testament to hard work, determination, and a deep commitment to hospitality.

Arriving in the U.S. as a 16-year-old, Zarhloul rose through the ranks of the restaurant industry, learning the business from the ground up. His international experience as food and beverage director at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts sent him around the world and immersed him in the highest levels of global hospitality.

Hospitality became a passion for Zarhloul, leading him to learn how to lead teams, manage operations, and connect with customers. This passion was evident when he launched Crazy Pita in 2006, a fast-casual Mediterranean concept focusing on fresh Mediterranean flavors from his Moroccan roots and exceptional customer service.

Key factors in Zarhloul's success include his emphasis on personal connection, guest feedback, and hospitality practices he absorbed during his travels and early career. This commitment to hospitality made customers feel truly welcome and valued, setting Crazy Pita apart from its competitors.

From the original Crazy Pita store, Zarhloul grew the business to include four more locations in the Las Vegas area, including one inside a Walmart. He also launched two virtual brands, Salad Madness and Chicken Genius, to diversify offerings and reach more customers.

Innovative marketing and culture building were also crucial to Zarhloul's success. He created unique promotional events like National Pita Day and Crazy Pita Day to celebrate business milestones and engage the community.
