Tractor Supply Expands Operations with New Distribution Centre in Nampa, Idaho

Tractor Supply Company, a leading retailer of rural lifestyle products, has announced plans to build a new distribution centre in Nampa, Idaho. This centre will serve approximately 200 Tractor Supply stores in the Pacific Northwest, making it the fourth largest in Tractor Supply's chain, spanning 865,000 square feet.

The company is investing $225 million in the Nampa facility, which will be built to LEED certification standards. The distribution centre is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027.

Tractor Supply reported first-quarter earnings results this month, with net sales increasing 2.1% to $3.5 billion year over year. Comparable store sales in Q1 decreased 0.9%. However, the increase was driven by new store openings and the contribution from online pet pharmacy Allivet, which Tractor Supply acquired last year.

The change in outlook is due to the introduction of new tariffs. Despite this, Tractor Supply updated its outlook for fiscal 2025, with net sales forecast to increase 4% to 8%. Net income is expected to land between $1.07 billion and $1.17 billion. Comparable sales are expected to be flat to up 4%.

The Nampa facility will improve Tractor Supply's efficiency in serving stores in the Pacific Northwest. It will also position the company well for expansion into new markets in the region. Tractor Supply considered several nearby states before choosing Nampa for its latest distribution centre.

In addition to the new distribution centre, Tractor Supply has also launched Tractor Supply Rx this month, integrating its digital pharmacy business into Tractor Supply and Petsense locations.

In the first quarter of this year, Tractor Supply opened 15 new Tractor Supply stores and operates 2,311 Tractor Supply locations and 206 Petsense by Tractor Supply stores. The stores served by the distribution centre are located in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming.

The new distribution centre in Nampa, Idaho, is set to bolster Tractor Supply's operations in the Pacific Northwest, further solidifying its position as a leading rural lifestyle retailer.
