Constructing new factories at the incomplete colossus of Soviet machinery near Krasnoyarsk.

In the vicinity of Krasnoyarsk, where the incomplete Red Metal Factory was left from Soviet times, a modern industrial hub will soon emerge. The Corporation for the Development of the Yenisey Siberia has entered into an agreement for the support of this industrial project with OOO "Industrial Park PROMZAVOD".

This industrial territory will be the latest addition to the Industrial Park "Krasny Yar", with OOO "Krasny Yar" being its co-founder, as shown in the state directory of legal entities. However, all the majority shares of "Krasny Yar"'s private investors are held by the mortgage holder, PJSC "Sberbank of Russia".

This 8-hectare plot next to the unfinished Red Metal Factory could potentially host a variety of industrial enterprises, such as machinery, electric goods, building materials, metalworking, and food production. Furthermore, there are plans to create a logistics complex.

"The necessary technical requirements are in the process of being granted, and geodesic surveys have commenced. The master plan for the land development is being formed as well," explained the Corporation for the Development of Yenisey Siberia.

This industrial plot in the area boasts numerous advantages for potential tenants: its proximity to the city and excellent transport accessibility. Moreover, the ample space allows for a comprehensive approach to construction.

The needs of those planning to set up shop here will be taken into account during the planning and zoning of the area, thereby reducing construction and startup times. The industrial estate will be managed using a single-window system.

It's worth recalling that, in the 2010s, there were plans to construct the Yenisey steel mill on this site. However, the residents of Krasnoyarsk vehemently opposed setting up hazardous production facilities in their city. The region is now seeing a concentration of logistics centers instead: just south of the city, the largest logistics park in the Krasnoyarsk region, "Emelyanovsky," is under construction in the village of Starkovo. MEGASTROY started building the fourth phase of this project in March 2025.

So, after a period of years, the territory beyond the solar-powered Krasnoyarsk could potentially emerge as one of the important industrial-logistics centers of Yenisey Siberia.

While specific details about the current status and future plans of the "Krasny Yar" industrial park were not found during the search, here are some insights into overall industrial and logistics developments in Russia:

  1. Industrial Development: Russia is focusing on diversifying its economy through investments in various sectors like manufacturing, electronics, and automotive industries.
  2. Logistics Complexes: Complexes are being developed to improve supply chain efficiency and support economic growth. These complexes usually include transportation hubs, warehouses, and distribution centers.
  3. Zoning for Businesses: Zoning regulations in Russia are designed to facilitate specific types of businesses in designated areas, such as industrial parks. This helps in creating specialized zones for manufacturing, logistics, and other business activities. These regulations can help businesses by reducing the time required for construction and startup.
  4. The industrial hub emerging near Krasnoyarsk, encompassing the modernized Red Metal Factory site, is anticipated to house diverse businesses, such as those in manufacturing, electric goods, or food production, as part of the Industrial Park "Krasny Yar."
  5. In line with Russia's economic strategy, the development of logistics complexes, including the one under construction in the village of Starkovo, is a priority, as these facilities enhance supply chain efficiency and stimulate overall industrial growth, while adhering to zoning regulations designed for specific business activities.
