Conceptual Lamborghini to Generate 3.5 Million Euros
The Lamborghini Pregunta, a concept car from the 1990s that paved the way for later models like the Murciélago, is set to make its first appearance at auction in over a decade. This unique piece of Lamborghini history, currently housed in the Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese, is estimated to fetch between 2.5 and 3.5 million euros.
The Pregunta, which was developed by the French coachbuilder and supplier Heuliez, was initially led by Chrysler. Despite never being put into production, it offers a fascinating perspective on Lamborghini's development in the late 1990s.
Powered by a 5.7-liter V12 engine producing 537 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque, the Pregunta can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 337 km/h. Its carbon fiber body, large air intakes, and scissor-like doors are a testament to its impressive performance capabilities.
The interior of the Pregunta is as unique as its exterior. The driver's side resembles an airplane cockpit, while the passenger side is designed for comfort. This division reflects the car's focus on both style and functionality.
The Pregunta made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in 1998 and was used for promotions and exhibitions by Heuliez after its first presentation. In 2014, it received a Lamborghini Polo Storico certificate, and in 2021, it underwent a thorough inspection and service by the Lamborghini Heritage department. The Pregunta was later placed in the Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese by the French coachbuilder Carrosserie Heuliez-Torino, who was responsible for its bodywork and interior.
The design of the Pregunta also had a lasting impact on later Lamborghini models. The Murciélago, for example, was influenced by the Pregunta's distinctive styling.
As the Pregunta prepares to go under the hammer, car enthusiasts and collectors alike will have the opportunity to own a piece of Lamborghini history. The auction is set to take place in the coming months, with the exact date and location yet to be announced.
