Complimentary access granted for public swimming pools and energy-saving updates to outdated electrical devices

In Rhein-Kreis Neuss, Germany, there is a program offering free swimming pool entry to low-income households. However, detailed information about this program, such as eligibility requirements and participating pools, is not easily accessible through online searches. Here's what we know so far:

  1. To find accurate and up-to-date information, check the official Rhein-Kreis Neuss municipal or district websites, particularly the sections related to social services or swimming pools.
  2. Local social welfare offices (Sozialamt) may also administer such programs.
  3. Community centers or public swimming pools in Rhein-Kreis Neuss could have announcements or eligibility criteria for the free swimming pool entry program.

The program is not limited to recipients of specific benefits and is applicable to individuals receiving unemployment benefit (SGB II), basic security in old age and cases of reduced earning capacity (SGB XII), asylum-seeker benefits, housing benefit, child supplement, and recipients of student financial aid (BAföG) and vocational training allowance.

Children under 12 years of age from these eligible groups can be accompanied by an adult for free at participating swimming pools. Some of the pools offering free entry include Hallenbad Büttgen, Sonnenbad in Rommerskirchen, Hallenbad Jüchen, Stadtbad Sammys Dormagen, Römertherme Dormagen, and Schlossbad Grevenbroich.

Interested parties can register for the program with Caritas Social Services Rhein-Kreis Neuss GmbH or the SKM Neuss. To access free entry, a valid ID and either the Rhein-Kreis-Neuss-Pass or the Neuss-Pass must be presented. Additionally, holders of a Dormagen family pass or a Kaarst family assistance plan are eligible for free entry.

It's important to note that the offer of free entry is valid for the specified pools only, and the appliance exchange program, which allows for the exchange of up to two old appliances for energy-efficient new ones, does not provide free swimming pool entry.

For more detailed information, we recommend visiting the official websites or contacting the local authorities mentioned above.
