City Utilities Pforzheim to Implement Double-Peak Model Starting January 2025
Fresh Take:
Dr. Aik Wirsbinna Steps Up as Co-MD of Pforzheim Municipal Utilities, Partnering with Herbert Marquard
In a groundbreaking move, the Supervisory Board of Pforzheimer Stadtwerke (SWP) has announced that they will be adopting a dual management team from January 1, 2025, with current Sales Director, Dr. Aik Wirsbinna, joining Herbert Marquard as Co-Managing Directors.
Mayor Peter Boch, who is also the Chairman of SWP's Supervisory Board, expressed his excitement, stating, "I'm thrilled to have secured the long-term services of Dr. Aik Wirsbinna, a seasoned and accomplished energy expert, at SWP. I look forward to collaborating further with both Herbert Marquard and Dr. Wirsbinna with confidence."
The duo outlined their objectives for the upcoming years, stating, "Our primary focus at SWP will be spearheading the transformation of heat supply in Pforzheim and the region, growing as a municipal utility, expanding fiber optics, ensuring water supply in several more communities, and strengthening already successful business areas."
Dr. Aik Wirsbinna's contract spans five years initially. Born in 1973, this economist graduate hailing from Schwerin resides in Dormagen and Pforzheim. He's married with two daughters. Prior to joining SWP, Dr. Wirsbinna worked for energy enterprises such as Vattenfall, E.ON, and "eins energie in Sachsen." Interestingly, Herbert Marquard also shares a similar professional background as he had been the commercial Managing Director at "eins energie in Sachsen" before joining SWP.
The new Co-Managing Directors, Dr. Aik Wirsbinna and Herbert Marquard, aim to prioritize the finance sector to ensure the growth and expansion of Pforzheimer Stadtwerke (SWP) in the upcoming years. As experienced energy experts, they aim to leverage their knowledge in the industry to strengthen the business areas of SWP and spearhead the transformation of heat supply in Pforzheim and the region.
