YAKUTIA'S CELEBRITY PALACE ON HOLD

C'MON, WE GET IT, INTEREST RATES ARE HIGH!

Hey folks! We got some hot goss straight from the Taiga! The bigwigs behind Yakutia's planned multifunctional film pavilion, estimated to set back 21 billion, have halted construction due to the current high-interest rates. According to the General Director of Yakutia Development Corporation, Afanasiy Savvin, ain't nobody wanna take a concession loan at these sky-high rates.

Look, we get it. The rates are smokin' hot. That's why we've hit the pause button ourselves. Nobody's keen on diving headfirst into a deal like this at such inflated rates. It's a no-brainer, mate, Savvin told TASS on the sidelines of SPIEF.

This film-fucky-pavilion is part of Yakutsk's master plan, with the proposed site being the 68th quarter of the city. The idea was first pitched to President Putin back in '23, and he was all, "heck yeah, let's make it happen by '27!" The construction kick-off was scheduled for '25, but, y'know, life happens.

The multifunctional center is set to provide Yakutian filmmakers with modern pavilions, studios, and equipment, so they can shoot their masterpieces year-round. The concept and pre-project documentation are intact. The next step is design, and the project needs some serious investments, with the expectation of federal funding.

Deputy head of the "New People" faction, Sardana Avksentyeva, ain't no fan of this project and slammed it as a money pit. But, savvy Savvin believes the project is still in the works and needs that good ol' fed Funds. Many film producers support the project, as, apparently, there's a big lack of suitable venues in Yakutsk for international events.
