Cash-dispensing machines are taking to the skies once more.

In an unexpected turn of events, two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in the cities of Rommerskirchen and Dormagen, Germany, were targeted in separate incidents on the night of January 2nd.

The first incident occurred at around 02:15 AM on Venloer Straße in Rommerskirchen, where the ATM was destroyed using explosives. Witnesses reported that at least three suspects, who fled the scene in a dark car (possibly a BMW), were involved in the attack. The suspects made their getaway towards the B59.

Just two hours later, at approximately 04:50 AM, another ATM at Von-Stauffenberg-Straße in Dormagen was targeted in a similar manner. In this incident, at least two individuals were seen fleeing the scene in a high-performance vehicle towards the B477.

The police are actively investigating these incidents and have taken over the investigations in both cases. The Criminal Investigation Department 14 is examining a possible connection between the two incidents. The amount of cash stolen in both incidents is currently under investigation.

Witnesses with any information are urged to contact the police at 02131 300 - 0. It is essential that any leads are pursued to ensure the safety of the public and prevent further attacks.
