Capri Holdings Names Dario Vitali as New Versace Creative Director
Capri Holdings Limited has appointed Dario Vitali as the new creative director of Versace, succeeding Donatella Versace. The move comes after Capri Holdings' acquisition of Versace in 2018 and a recent deal with Prada.
Capri Holdings, formerly known as Michael Kors Holdings, changed its name in 2019 to reflect its expansion into multiple luxury brands. The company owns Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, and Versace, which it acquired for €1.8 billion in 2018.
Donatella Versace stepped down as creative director in March 2025, paving the way for Dario Vitali, the former Miu Miu design director, to take the helm. Vitali assumed the role on March 2, 2025, preserving Versace's creative DNA, as clarified by Prada.
Capri Holdings has announced a deal with Prada, aiming to close in the second half of 2025. The deal aims to boost share value, strengthen the balance sheet, and drive growth for Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo.
With Dario Vitali at the creative helm and a strategic deal with Prada in the works, Capri Holdings looks to further solidify its position in the luxury market, driving growth and success for its brands.
