Buying appliances on a budget: Exploring court auctions for cheaper products
In the quaint town of Épernay, Natacha Legendre, a savvy shopper, has made a name for herself after scoring impressive deals at a recent auction. The auction, which was not for works of art, but for electrical appliances, saw nearly 200 lots put up for sale, all with up to 70% off.
Natacha, who needed a refrigerator for her daughter's student apartment, was delighted to find a refrigerator originally priced at 335 euros in a big store, but she managed to get it for just 140 euros at the auction. This wasn't her only find; she also bagged a washing machine she originally planned to buy for 400 euros, but ended up getting it for 260 euros.
The auction, which started at a low price, saw a flurry of bids, with Natacha being one of the most active bidders. She also purchased a vacuum cleaner and bedding, ensuring she had a complete set of appliances for her daughter's apartment.
Michel Gritti, another eager bidder, also made significant purchases, spending 2,000 euros on multiple lots, considering it a good deal. The auctioneer, Mr. Antoine Petit, explained that even if the bids went up, it was still a good deal. He further clarified that people could put in the price they want to pay, and he would drive up the bids.
Mr. Petit's strategy seemed to work, as all the lots in the auction were sold below their market prices. Despite the lack of information about the name of the auctioneer who operates the auction building in Épernay, the event was undoubtedly a success, with many happy customers like Natacha Legendre.
As for Natacha, she's already preparing lots for the next auction, hoping to continue her streak of finding great deals. With her knack for bargain hunting and the attractive prices at these auctions, it's safe to say she'll be a regular at future events.
