In a significant shift, Sylvia Postranecky and Katrin Schön have assumed the co-leadership roles in the Politics & Communications department of the Metal Industry Association, effective from April 1st.

Sylvia Postranecky, the new Head of the Politics & Communications Department, will oversee the department's activities, with a focus on political affairs, industry advocacy, and strategic communication efforts aimed at representing and supporting the metal industry's interests.

On the other hand, Katrin Schön, appointed as a Communication Officer, will manage communication strategies, create content, and facilitate effective information exchange between the association, its members, and external stakeholders.

Both Sylvia and Katrin bring extensive experience in political communication and trade association work to their new roles. Their expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the Metal Industry Association’s engagement with policymakers and the public.

Teresa Schad, the previous leader of the Politics & Communications department, left the association after seven years at her own request. She is currently taking a professional sabbatical, a decision unrelated to the Metal Industry Association.

The Metal Industry Association continues to represent the interests of the metal industry with the new co-leadership of Sylvia Postranecky and Katrin Schön. They will jointly represent the industry's interests going forward, with Katrin focusing on managing the department's trade association work, and Sylvia developing and implementing the department's political communication strategies.

The change in leadership marks a first in the history of the Politics & Communications department at the Metal Industry Association, as Sylvia and Katrin become the first co-leaders in the department's history.

Both Sylvia and Katrin report directly to the executive board of the Metal Industry Association, who will provide support and guidance to the new co-leaders in their roles.

As the new co-leaders settle into their roles, the Metal Industry Association looks forward to continued success and strong representation for the metal industry.

In their new roles, Sylvia Postranecky and Katrin Schön will manage finance-related decisions as part of their strategic communication efforts, aiming to secure adequate funding for the Metal Industry Association.

Together, they will also work on finance-driven business strategies, ensuring the association's sustainability and effectiveness in representing the metal industry's interests.
