Business executive David Fogarty departs from CBRE to lead the UN Global Compact Network Singapore organization.
David Fogarty, a seasoned expert in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters, has been appointed as the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS), effective 1 October 2025.
In his new role, Fogarty will be responsible for setting strategic direction, strengthening corporate engagement, and leading key sustainability programs such as the UNGCNS Summit, LowCarbonSG, and the Singapore Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards.
With over 20 years of experience in ESG matters, net zero planning, and corporate transformation, Fogarty's expertise in sustainability in the built environment is expected to accelerate corporate sustainability efforts and build a more resilient business ecosystem in Singapore.
Fogarty's tenure at CBRE, a real estate services and investment giant, significantly contributed to his appointment. He spent 14 years at CBRE, most recently as Head of Sustainability & ESG Consulting for Asia Pacific. There, he led corporate climate strategies and initiatives, including the acquisition of Singapore-based Paia Consulting.
The team at UNGCNS has expanded in the past year, growing from 10 to 27 employees with the acquisition of Paia Consulting. Carrie Johnson, founder of Paia Consulting, has stayed on as lead consultant in the combined team, known as Paia FROM CBRE.
The United Nations Global Compact has not disclosed any new partnerships or collaborations with other organizations. CBRE did not comment on any potential layoffs in connection with the changes in leadership or structure of its Asia Pacific Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) consulting and sustainability services team.
Esther Chang, the previous executive director of UNGCNS, has moved on to become the CEO at Asia Philanthropy Circle. Corrado Forcellati, former managing director of Paia Consulting, was appointed as CBRE's director of client sustainability strategy and solutions.
The focus of the appointment remains on driving corporate sustainability initiatives across the region, with Fogarty's extensive leadership in ESG at CBRE preparing him well for the challenges ahead. The UNGCNS is one of 63 country chapters of a global initiative launched in 2000 by the UN Secretary-General to encourage companies to integrate sustainable development goals into their core business operations.
