Bremen's Zeppel Tunnel Shutdown from November 19; Detours for BSAG Lines 2, 10, and N10

In a significant development, Deutsche Bahn AG has initiated the renovation of the Zeppelintunnel in Hemelingen, which began in January 2021. The tunnel, a crucial part of Bremen's public transport network, will be fully closed from November 19, 3 AM, to December 4, 3 AM.

During this closure, passengers using tram lines 2, 10, and night line N10 may experience changes to their usual routes. As part of typical transit renovation practices, these lines will be rerouted or partially suspended along the Zeppelintunnel corridor.

To accommodate passengers, alternative stops have been arranged close to the affected area. For instance, a replacement stop on Pfalzburger Straße will serve for the Föhrenstraße stop, while a stop near Straße Bei den Drei Pfählen will function as a substitute for Bennigsenstraße in the direction of Gröpelingen.

In addition, bus replacements or shuttle buses will be provided to cover segments where tram service is interrupted. One such service, bus line 10E, will depart from Sebaldsbrück stop, platform D, in the direction of Weserwehr. Another option for passengers is to use bus line 45 on the route between Weserwehr and Sebaldsbrück during the tunnel closure.

The renovation of the Zeppelintunnel includes the renewal of the roadbed and noise protection walls, shifting and enlarging the tunnel, lowering the road under the new bridge, and redesigning the road layout. This necessitates adjustments to the tram tracks, which will be realigned.

Passengers are advised to consult the local public transport authority for precise information including exact replacement stops, shuttle bus routes, and timetable changes for the specified period. The city’s tram operator or transit website would provide the most accurate and up-to-date details.

In the meantime, passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time to accommodate the changes. The Zeppelintunnel renovation is a necessary step towards improving the city's public transport infrastructure, and the cooperation of passengers is greatly appreciated.

In the upcoming tunnel closure, passengers using tram lines 2, 10, and night line N10 may find alterations in their usual routes due to rerouting or partial suspension along the Zeppelintunnel corridor. As a part of the transportation industry's renovation practices, financial adjustments may be necessary for the public-transit sector to facilitate alternative stops and bus replacements or shuttle buses during this period.
