Bentley Unveils the EXP 15: A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

Bentley Motors has made a significant stride in the automotive world with the unveiling of its new concept car, the EXP 15. This electrically powered, four-door vehicle is set to revolutionise the industry, embodying the design principle of 'Upright Elegance' and reflecting Bentley's early 20th century Grand Tourer heritage.

The EXP 15 boasts a striking design, featuring an upright grille, a long 'endless' bonnet, and a rearward cabin. The design of the grille is considered a crucial part of Bentley's historic visual architecture, paying homage to the brand's rich heritage. The rear surface displays the new winged Bentley emblem and diamond-patterned rear lights, adding a touch of modern elegance.

The EXP 15's interior is a masterful blend of traditional, artisanal, sustainable, ultra-modern, and futuristic elements. Bentley has sourced high-quality materials for the interior, using a 100 percent wool textile by Fox Brothers and fine silk jacquard textile by British company Gainsborough. The interior design is influenced by the 1930 Speed Six Gurney Nutting Sportsman coupe, yet it incorporates cutting-edge technology, such as virtual reality software.

The EXP 15's cabin is equipped with a three-seat, three-door configuration, providing a spacious and luxurious environment. The passenger seat can swivel 45 degrees outwards, offering dignified egress and the perfect Instagram shot. It also offers 'Co-pilot', 'Standard', and 'Relax' modes, catering to various passenger preferences. In 'Relax' mode, the footrests can fold down, creating shallow space for a pet or hand luggage.

The driver's side of the EXP 15 features a single door leading to the driver's seat, while the passenger side has twin coach doors and part of a panoramic roof that open upwards for easier entry and exit. The dashboard can act as a digital interface or reveal a veneered wood surface underneath the glass when off, adding a touch of traditional charm.

The EXP 15 is conceived with a fully-electric, all-wheel drive powertrain offering long range and fast recharging speeds. This new fine woven metal mesh called 'Acrylic Couture' adorns the exterior, adding a touch of sophistication and modernity.

Bentley Motors has recently opened design studios in London and Crewe, signalling its commitment to innovation and design excellence. The company expects its first electrically powered, four-door production car to appear around 2026, promising an exciting future for the luxury car manufacturer.
