Barn Swallows Establishes business partnerships with two Indonesian enterprises
Bird & Bird Strengthens Presence in Indonesia with Strategic Alliances
In a move to expand its services in Indonesia, international law firm Bird & Bird has formed strategic alliances with Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners (NSMP) and K&K Advocates.
These partnerships aim to broaden Bird & Bird's services in Indonesia, combining the global network and international experience of the law firm with the local knowledge and capabilities of these well-established Indonesian firms.
The alliances with NSMP, a business law firm, and K&K Advocates, an IP boutique firm, are specific to Indonesia and are part of Bird & Bird's ongoing efforts to expand its services in the region.
Justin Walkey, chairman of Bird & Bird's Asia-Pacific practice, stated that the heightened expectations of the ASEAN Economic Community have created a strong demand for Bird & Bird's services, particularly in Indonesia. The partnerships are a response to this growing demand.
Bird & Bird already has a strong presence in the region, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, and operates in Singapore as ATMD Bird & Bird. The strategic alliances with NSMP and K&K Advocates are new developments in Bird & Bird's expansion plans.
These alliances support Bird & Bird’s strategy of expanding in key jurisdictions through trusted partnerships rather than direct offices. This approach allows for seamless cross-border legal services and enhanced market penetration in Indonesia.
Such strategic alliances are common for international law firms aiming to access emerging markets while respecting local regulations and practices. They provide clients with integrated legal advice leveraging both global standards and local insights, ensuring Bird & Bird can effectively handle Indonesian legal matters within their broader international practice framework.
In addition to these new partnerships, Bird & Bird has a long-standing cooperation agreement with Tay & Partners in Malaysia and has previously signed an agreement with Hwang Mok Park in Korea.
These strategic moves by Bird & Bird demonstrate a commitment to strengthening its presence and legal expertise in the Indonesian market, providing clients with a comprehensive and integrated legal service offering in the region.
- This expansion strategy of Bird & Bird aligns with the finance and business aspects of the industry, as they build their presence in Indonesia by forming alliances with law firms like Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners and K&K Advocates.
