A Night to Remember at Ingolstadt City Theatre

The 51st regular meeting of Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte eG took place with flair, charm, and a healthy dose of nostalgia on June 24, 2025, at the gorgeous Ingolstadt City Theatre. The bank's 130th anniversary provided the perfect excuse to party, reminisce, and reaffirm the core values that have guided the institution since its inception.

The event schedule for the night was expanded to include a grand program that set a festive tone, with Assembly leader and Supervisory Board Chairman, Albert Vogler, warmly welcoming the 214 eligible representatives and countless esteemed guests from politics, economics, and the cooperative union. Vogler emphasized the importance of the cooperative participation principle and applauded the dedication of each and every representative.

First-time participants, who were newly elected, received a special welcome from Vogler, who appreciated their enthusiasm and eagerness to contribute actively to the co-management of the cooperative. Dr. Dorothea Deneke-Stoll, the 2nd Mayor of the vibrant city of Ingolstadt, extended congratulatory greetings from the city and highlighted the substantial ties between Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte and the region, praising the institution as a valuable ally for citizens, businesses, and the city itself.

Key factors contributing to success include a steadfast execution of strategic goals, unwavering customer trust, and a dedicated workforce.

Board member Wolfgang Gebhard then walked the representatives through the most critical balance sheet positions in detail. The crowd was enthralled by an impressive historical performance staged by two gifted actors. The actors, in the roles of cooperative trailblazers Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen and Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch, delivered a captivating and respectful rendition, tracing the evolution of the bank from its beginnings in 1895 to the present day. The roots of today's second-largest Volksbank Raiffeisenbank in Bavaria can be traced back to the Ingolstadt district of Unsernherrn.

To recognize the extraordinary contributions of Raiffeisen and Schulze-Delitzsch, the Bavarian Association of Cooperatives distributed a commemorative certificate and a bust featuring the faces of the founders during the event. This bust will be proudly displayed in the future at the DonauTower, the new headquarters of the cooperative bank.
