Baden-Baden News's publications, including newspapers and brochures, will be printed locally in Baden-Baden starting from 2027.

In a significant move for the publishing industry, the Badische Neuesten Nachrichten (BNN) has announced plans to relocate its printing operations from Karlsruhe-Neureut to Baden-Baden by mid-2027. The decision, which reflects a commitment to transformation and renewal, is expected to bring several benefits, including cost savings, modernization of printing infrastructure, and strategic partnerships.

The new printing centre, known as the Badische Druckhaus, will be located in the Oos-West industrial area. This move is of particular importance for the company, as the printing house on Flugstraße in Baden-Baden offers modernity and future-orientation, making it a more suitable choice over the one on Linkenheimer Landstraße.

The Badische Druckhaus, inaugurated in 2014 under the management of the Badisches Tagblatt, will be expanded and rebuilt to accommodate the daily newspapers with a circulation of 100,000 currently produced in Karlsruhe. The company has also acquired new printing machines for use in Baden-Baden, in addition to the existing production facilities.

The permit for the expansion and rebuilding of the printing house in Baden-Baden has been in place since April. The relocation is expected to create synergies in terms of personnel, buildings, technology, and maintenance costs.

With the move to Baden-Baden, the Badische Neuesten Nachrichten will join journals such as the Badische and Brettener Woche, "WO", and external orders in printing their headlines and advertising publications in the new printing house. The halls in Baden-Baden are located in a pure industrial area, making most delivery routes more efficient, and the printing house is easily accessible via the A5.

The Badisches Tagblatt group, which was acquired in 2021, offers prospects until 2040 and possibly beyond, even in times of declining circulation. The company aims to continue producing sustainably in Baden-Baden, expanding in an environmentally friendly manner.

The publishing director, Matthias Köhler, confirms the commitment to paving the way for transformation, but stresses the need for print as a solid foundation for several more years. The acquisition of the Badisches Tagblatt, which brought the company into possession of the printing house, is seen as a "happy coincidence".

The move from Karlsruhe-Neureut to Baden-Baden marks a new chapter for the Badische Neuesten Nachrichten, as they continue to adapt and evolve in the ever-changing publishing landscape.
