May Day in Ghana is all about saluting the unsung heroes that work tirelessly for the country's progress. This year, Saltpond Victoria Park in Mfantseman municipality's Central Region played host to a series of celebratory events.
The party was made extra special with the generous sponsorship of Atlantic Lithium Ltd., a lithium exploration and development company. This company is leaving no stone unturned in supporting local communities, especially in their employment efforts. Atlantic Lithium is developing the Ewoyaa Project, a significant lithium spodumene concentrate discovery that aims to become Ghana's first lithium-producing mine. Over 95% of the company's employees are proud Ghanaian citizens, many hailing from the Central Region itself.

However, the company aspires to offer more lasting benefits as it progresses the Ewoyaa Project towards production. Ambitions include employing over 300 locals and setting up a community development fund to channel a proportion of project profits towards regional development projects.
The who's who of the Central Region's political and community scene graced the event, including Justina Marigold Assan, the Central Regional Minister, and other influential leaders. All voiced their appreciation for Atlantic Lithium's efforts in cultivating local talents and reducing regional unemployment rates.
The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly sees immense potential for Atlantic Lithium to further contribute to local content usage and is eagerly anticipating the mining lease required for project advancement.
