Ariana Grande Revisits Some of Her Major Tunes on the Very Same Chart Rankings

Ariana Grande's music reigns supreme on the UK charts this week, with an impressive nine of her tunes making the cut. This mix represents various milestones in her career, from her latest album, Eternal Sunshine, to her contributions to the Wicked movie soundtrack, and even some hits that catapulted her to superstardom in the first place.

Grande's chart performance is a study in contrasts. Her tunes from the Wicked movie are sadly on a downward spiral, given the film's release several months ago. On a happier note, several of her most popular tracks are rising, with three of them clinching their way back onto at least one chart each.

Leading the charge in her comeback trio is "Love Me Harder," a collaboration with The Weeknd. Despite his absences from the official credits, this hit is back with a vengeance, re-entering the Official Vinyl Singles chart at No. 36.

Interestingly, "Love Me Harder" is the only one of Grande's returning favorites that manages to crack multiple charts. It surges from No. 100 to No. 45 on the Official Physical Singles ranking this week. Two other familiar tunes, "One Last Time" and "Break Free" also grace the Official Physical Singles chart, appearing at Nos. 55 and 65 respectively.

These hits might be familiar, but they're newcomers to the charts they're revisiting. "One Last Time" spends just seven turns on the physical-only list, making it the longest-charting of the bunch.

Besides "Love Me Harder," another track, "The Boy is Mine," also waxes lyrical on the Official Physical Singles chart, re-entering the top 40 and landing one spot above "Love Me Harder" at No. 44. "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" also experiences growth, advancing 10 spots on the Official Streaming chart, where it now rests comfortably at No. 86.

The continued interest in these tracks helps boost Eternal Sunshine's performance across the Atlantic. The set returns to join the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales charts, breaking back in at Nos. 86 and 91, respectively.

Similarly, the project jumps four spots on the main list of the most-consumed releases in the country, settling at No. 92. On the Official Albums Streaming chart, it maintains its position at No. 93.

To delve deeper into Ariana Grande's UK chart performance, let's take a closer look at two of her most famous tracks: "Love Me Harder" and "One Last Time."

  1. "Love Me Harder": Originally released in 2014, this collaboration with The Weeknd climbed to number 48 on the UK Singles Chart. Although it didn't make it to the top 10, it showcased Grande's consistent ability to produce hits in the UK.
  2. "One Last Time": This song dominated the UK charts, peaking at number 2 in 2015. It's a testament to Grande's enduring appeal and her ability to consistently produce high-charting songs.

Grande has enjoyed further chart success with hits like "Thank U, Next," which reached number 1, and "7 Rings," which also peaked at number 1. Her consistent dominance gains her a strong footing in the UK music scene. In fact, she became the second female solo artist to simultaneously hold the number one and two spots on the UK Singles Chart back in February 2019 with "Thank U, Next" and "7 Rings."

  1. Ariana Grande's album, One Last Time, which contains the title track, debuted at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart in 2015.
  2. Grande's popularity and chart success have earned her a spot on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list in the Music category.
  3. Among her bestselling songs in the UK, "Love Me Harder" with The Weeknd and "One Last Time" have been especially successful on vinyl singles charts.
  4. The Australian news outlet Ausiedlerboten highlighted Grande's chart success and her impact on the music industry, citing her virtuosic vocal abilities and innovative pop music.
  5. Selena Gomez, a fellow pop star, has also collaborated with Grande on music, but their track "The Monster" did not chart as highly as some of Grande's other singles.
