Alexandria's Skyline to be Transformed by 365-Foot Residential Tower
A vacant three-acre lot in Alexandria is set for a major transformation. Red Fox Development has proposed a 365-foot-tall residential building with up to 775 units and 40,000 sq ft of retail, to be presented to the Planning Commission on Nov. 6. The property, owned by the Hoffman family, is located at 150 Stovall Street, less than a mile from the Eisenhower Ave-Metro station.
The proposed building, designed by Cooper Carry, aims to provide a dynamic skyline with views north into D.C. and Masonic Temple. If approved, it could become the tallest at-grade building in the city. The project is part of a coordinated development district in Block 3. Red Fox is represented by attorneys Ken Wire and Megan Rappolt.
The development, at 2425 Mill Road, includes up to 775 residential units and 40,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail. Red Fox hopes to get city approval by the end of 2026, break ground by 2027, and open in 2030.
The proposed 365-foot residential high-rise, if approved, will significantly alter the city's skyline and provide new housing and retail options. Red Fox Development plans to start construction in 2027, with an estimated completion date of 2030.
