Airbus Delivers 110 Aircraft in December Despite Reduced 2024 Target
Airbus has announced a reduction in its annual delivery target for 2024 due to supply chain difficulties exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, the company delivered over 110 aircraft in December 2024, with the A320 model being a significant contributor to this final push.
Airbus initially aimed to deliver 800 aircraft in 2024 but had to lower its target to 770 due to supply chain issues. These challenges, which have been ongoing since the COVID-19 pandemic, hindered Airbus's production throughout the year. However, the company managed to deliver around 760 commercial aircraft in 2024, just 10 fewer than its revised target.
Airbus will publish the official numbers for December 2024 and the full year 2024 on January 9, 2025. Despite the challenges, Airbus delivered 13 more aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year's quarter. Analysts estimated between 110 to 127 deliveries in December 2024, indicating a 13 percent increase from the previous year.
Airbus shares rose by about three percent to 159.26 euros on the first trading day of 2025, reflecting investors' optimism about the company's performance. Looking ahead, Airbus aims to stabilize production and meet increased demand for commercial aircraft in 2025. Analysts and market observers anticipate a positive trend for Airbus in the coming year.
